THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

I believe problems are reinforced through our negative thoughts and behaviors. These can then contribute to poor health and increased stress. Expanding our cognitive and behavioral responses increases our resistance to and our ability to cope with psychological distress and physical illness. My goal in counseling is to provide you a safe yet challenging environment to explore underlying strengths and resources within the context of your current situation and understand how negative thoughts and feelings impact current problems in your life. Our work together will also include gaining skills in managing your emotions, cognitions and reactions.
