I’m colorful, passionate, open minded and love to think outside of the box. My first goals when meeting a new client is to celebrate their readiness for change, acknowledge the beginning of our new therapeutic relationship and to set up a working dynamic where trust and respect sets the stage.
I am a Solution Focused Therapist. Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy are my go-to building blocks while EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT and Motivational Interviewing provide some of my favorite therapy tools. The deciding factor is always you. Through our work together, we will explore the changes you want to make and the best way to go about making those changes.
My post graduate career has been full of learning and growth. I Moved from Oregon with my MSW in 2011 and started working for the state as a primary therapist / social worker for inpatient psychiatric patients. In 2015 I changed paths and worked as a Medical Social Worker, in an ALS clinic, Home Health and Hospice. Finally, when the pandemic opened new and convenient options for obtaining mental health care I found my next true love, telehealth!
I have training and experience treating chemical addictions, anxiety, depression, over-stress, illness/caregiving, PTSD/trauma and grief/loss. I help people successfully navigate big life transitions and changes and I love helping people create healthy and happy relationships with family, friends and most importantly with themselves.
I am a part of the LGBTQ community and have a lot of experience with and very much enjoy working with teen and adult clients exploring gender and sexuality topics as well as working with people building healthy attachments and navigating alternate choices such as Ethical Non-Monogamy and Polyamorous relationships.
