Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach is Humanistic, person-centered and holistic. I integrate existential, psychodynamic, and psychoeducational approaches in the search for meaning and healing. I strive to facilitate experiences that promote personal growth, empowerment and interpersonal and community connectedness.

I believe that it is our experiences that shape our lives. My approach is to co-create experiences with my clients that feel safe and connected as a foundation to first establish and navigate our own therapeutic relationship. Through this relationship, we can begin to explore other relationships and meaningful events in your life that deserve attention. When we create a safe and connected space, the things that need our attention will come up for us to explore. In addition to more traditional talk therapy, I integrate a variety of creative modalities like musical and vocal improvisation, drumming, songwriting, drawing and other art projects, storytelling, expressive movement, music listening, and verbal processing into my client care.

You may come into therapy knowing exactly what you want to focus on, or you may come to therapy with an instinct that something could be better, but you aren’t sure what. I am interested in listening not just to your words, but to all of the other ways that you may non-verbally be communicating. We can use our instincts as well as our collective knowledge and understanding to support you through whatever you bring in and whatever may come up in the process. Together, we’ll make a plan to work through it.
