I am an associate licensed mental health counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington State University. In addition to English, I also speak Oromo, Swahili, and Amharic, which allows me to connect with clients across cultures and create a therapeutic space where different identities and perspectives are truly valued.
Roza works with adults, young adults, and couples. She sees her clients via telehealth only.
As a first-generation therapist and woman of color, I deeply understand the importance of representation, inclusivity, and safety in the counseling process. I honor this truth for each and every client I see, no matter who you are or where you come from. I know that seeking therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I want you to feel reassured that this is a space where your experiences, identity, and voice are honored. My goal is to walk alongside you as we explore who you are, where you’ve been, and where you hope to go. Therapy is not just about addressing difficulties, it’s also about discovering your strengths, building resilience, and uncovering new ways to live with greater clarity, purpose, and peace.
My approach is always personalized because no two people’s stories are the same. Depending on your needs, I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), client-centered therapy, Gottman methods, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. These tools help us explore both the challenges you’ve faced and the possibilities ahead, while also equipping you with practical skills and strategies you can carry into your daily life.
Ultimately, therapy is your journey, and I see my role as your collaborator and guide. Together, we’ll uncover the root causes of what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, and build new tools to help you move forward. My hope is that you leave each session feeling more supported, more understood, and more empowered to create a life that feels authentic and fulfilling to you.
I have had experience of working in a variety of mental health settings, including community based programs, private practice, and group practices. These diverse experiences have allowed me to support individuals and couples with a wide range of needs. At the Eating Recovery Center in Bellevue, I received comprehensive training in eating disorder treatment and recovery. In Seattle, I focused on couples and premarital counseling at a private group practice, where I completed Gottman Level 1 & 2 training. Each of these experiences has shaped the way I support my clients today, giving me a strong foundation to work with young adults, individuals, and couples, through both challenges and transitions.
