Young Adults

A wonderful and difficult stage in life sometimes needs extra support

Young adults face the question of whether their choices are becoming more and more their own. Protecting your mental health is a great first choice as your life sits in front of you. At Bluestone Psychological we have collaborative experts to walk alongside of you.

Are you moving away from your parents and coming to WA for school? Are you relocating to a different part of the state?

It may not seem like it but moving can complicate how you can receive health care, including mental health care, from a new home base. We felt it was important to provide the following information in an attempt to help you prepare for what such a move might mean for your medical insurance benefits.

This is simply some basic information. Please call your health plan and/or benefits manager to get information specific to your health plan and situation. Planning ahead can help prevent confusion and frustration when trying to access care from your new home. Anxiety and Depression Therapy for Young Adults

Young adults face the future, often without a good gps map. The desire to skip over the painful part of life can lead to avoidance. The prevalence of anxiety and/or depression during this time is high. But, the success rate of counseling or therapy for the young adult is also high. Our therapists are experts in listening, validating feelings, and then building the person’s skill level. As the skill level increases, a sense of control emerges in young adult’s feeling experience.

Knowing Young Adult Issues

In a 1995 psychologist Jeffrey Jensen Arnett, studied 300 young people between the ages of 18 and 29. They were asked to report the emotions and feelings they experienced while on the threshold of adulthood. Despite the participants being from a variety of cultures, the overarching result was a desire to achieve independence while still remaining closely linked to one’s family or support group.
